COLNE VALLEY
Jason McCartney
With barely 1000 votes needed for a Conservative gain in this constituency, Huddersfield CF are committed to winning the seat for Prosepective Parliamentary Candidate Jason McCartney (who will be a recognisable face to fans of ITV News and Sport). Colne Valley has been held by each of the main parties in the past 30 years but has not been Conservative since 1997. We aim to help Jason change that.

Simon Reevell
A swing of less than 5000 away from Labour will see Dewsbury become a Conservative seat again and Huddersfield CF are playing a major role in bringing this about. The seat has been Labour since 1987, having previously been Conservative. Labour’s majority has diminished very noticeably in recent years; we will be working to ensure this trend continues through to its natural conclusion. Simon is one of the strongest new Conservative Candidates, with a special expertise in Defence and Agricultural affairs. As a practicing barrister with chambers in Leeds, Simon has worked for many soldiers injured in the recent conflicts in Iraq and Afghanistan, highlighting time and again the inadequacies of the training many of our young soldiers receive before being posted abroad to these extremely dangerous theatres.

Commenting on her selection, Karen said:
“I am proud and honoured to have been selected as the Conservative Parliamentary Candidate for Huddersfield. I have lived in the Huddersfield area for over 25 years and I look forward to speaking up for Huddersfield in the months to come.”
“Across Kirklees you can see the results of 12 years of neglect from a Labour government with unemployment on the rise, businesses struggling and development schemes being scrapped. I will be setting out the Conservatives vision for change and listening to the views of people across Huddersfield.”
